Our Team

When Kurt joined the financial services industry in 1998, he noticed far too often that industry investment advice could potentially be influenced by product sales.  Kurt takes his fiduciary role very seriously and is committed to the financial planning process.  This creates a logical client centered approach to any recommendations.  "Client goals, concerns, and risk tolerance must be considered first before any investment recommendation is made.  Financial products are simply tools we use to help clients fulfill any financial game plan."  After a plan is implemented, Kurt meets with his clients on a regular basis to uncover any changing needs, goals, or concerns, and adjusts for these changes accordingly.

Kurt and his wife live in the Lake Country area and are now enjoying life as empty nesters after years of staying active with their children’s involvement in music, sports, church, and community organizations.  They continue to embrace an active lifestyle filled with outdoor activities such as traveling, camping, skiing, snowmobiling, and hiking.  With deep roots in the area, Kurt brings his family values and local insight to both his community involvement and professional work.

Brent joins One Tree Hill as an Associate Financial Advisor, supporting Kurt and his team. With 11 years of experience in financial services, Brent’s most recent role was at a local financial planning firm, where he worked closely with the president. In that position, he worked with advisors crafting holistic financial plans for families, focusing on investment, retirement, tax planning, and estate planning. 

A Milwaukee native, Brent holds a degree in Finance from Marquette University. He lives in Menomonee Falls with his wife of 8 years and their two daughters, along with two dogs, a frog, and a turtle. Brent enjoys grilling and spending quality time with family and friends over a meal.

Michele has joined One Tree Hill as the Operations Manager, where she supports Kurt, his team, and their clients. Having worked alongside Kurt early in his career as a Financial Advisor, Michele and Kurt have shared a professional relationship for over 20 years. Most recently, Michele worked with a small software company, collaborating with large health insurance providers.

Originally from Brookfield, WI, Michele holds a degree in Business Organizational Administration from UW-Milwaukee, with a minor in Communications. She currently resides in Waukesha and has two adult sons. In her free time, Michele enjoys the outdoors, reading, cooking, and spending quality time with her family. She’s also an avid fan of the Milwaukee Bucks, Green Bay Packers, and Milwaukee Brewers.

Caleb Mercado joins us as our marketing consultant a part of the Marketing Solutions team at LPL. He graduated from GCU in 2019 with a bachelor's in marketing and has many years of experience helping people grow their online audience and digital reach.
